Electrical work built on experience and accountability.
Uniform Lighting & Power is a veteran-owned, licensed, bonded, and insured C-10 electrical contractor based in Citrus Heights, serving homeowners, property managers, and businesses across Sacramento and Placer counties.
The company provides residential and light commercial electrical services with an emphasis on safe installation, skilled workmanship, accurate diagnostics, and straightforward communication. From electrical repairs and panel upgrades to EV charger installation, lighting, and larger electrical projects, every job is approached with the same standard: understand what needs to be done, and do it correctly.
Behind the company is Joey Perry, a Sacramento-area electrician whose background combines years of electrical trade experience with leadership developed through service in the U.S. Navy.
Joey grew up throughout the Sacramento region, spending time in communities including Citrus Heights, Roseville, Newcastle, and Rocklin.
At 17, before graduating high school, he enlisted in the Navy. After completing his initial military training and returning home as a reservist, Joey was still figuring out what he wanted his civilian career to look like. An uncle who worked as a lineman encouraged him to consider the electrical trade, and in 2017 Joey entered a five-year electrical apprenticeship in Sacramento.
He entered the trade with almost no electrical experience and worked his way through underground electrical, solar, lighting, electrical panels, fire alarm systems, and large commercial construction projects. After completing his apprenticeship and earning his journeyman credentials, Joey advanced into a foreman role where he led crews and took responsibility for major electrical work.
His electrical career developed alongside his military service. Joey’s Navy background included heavy equipment mechanics, equipment readiness, training, and leadership responsibilities. During a 2022 deployment to Bahrain, he ran a mechanic shop with roughly 15 mechanics and later reached the rank of Petty Officer First Class.
Owning a business had been in the back of Joey’s mind for years, but he originally assumed it would happen later in life.
Following his time as a foreman, he found himself back on a large project doing repetitive installation work. He had gained the experience and technical ability he’d worked toward, but the job no longer felt like the future he wanted.
One day, he came back from break, looked at his tools, packed them up, and left.
Instead of waiting until starting a business felt completely comfortable, he began building what became Uniform Lighting & Power — a company created to give him more ownership over the work he performed, the standards he worked by, and the experience customers received.
Joey approaches electrical work with the assumption that someone may eventually see what was done, even when the wiring is hidden in an attic, behind a wall, inside a panel, or above a ceiling.
Cutting a corner to save a little time isn’t worth putting his reputation behind work he wouldn’t be proud for another electrician to see later.
That same mindset applies to communication. Electrical work can be difficult to understand if you don’t work in the trade every day. Joey takes the time to explain what he’s seeing, what needs attention, and what the options are, so customers can make informed decisions about their property. Customers can also review the company’s diagnostic and service rates before scheduling, so the cost of a visit is clear up front.
For Uniform Lighting & Power, good electrical work isn’t only about whether something turns on when the job is finished. It’s about safety, workmanship, reliability, and being able to stand behind the work long after the job is done.
Sacramento isn’t simply where Uniform Lighting & Power does business. It’s home.
Joey grew up around the communities the company now serves and spent much of his electrical career working on projects throughout the region. Running the company has given him an even closer connection to those neighborhoods through the homeowners, businesses, and properties he works with every day.
Service extends across Sacramento and Placer counties, including Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Roseville, Rocklin, Granite Bay, Folsom, Rancho Cordova, Elk Grove, Fair Oaks, Carmichael, and Arden-Arcade, along with surrounding communities.
The goal is simple: build a respected local electrical company through experienced work, direct communication, personal accountability, and a reputation earned one project at a time.
Whether you’re trying to solve an electrical problem or planning an upgrade to your property, Uniform Lighting & Power can help.
