How Project Work Goes

Estimate to permit
to finished

Project work is straightforward when the scope is clear before anyone picks up a tool.

Free Estimate, No Obligation

We look at the job in person and give you a fixed price for the work. There’s no charge for the estimate and no obligation to move forward. You have the number before any commitment is made.

Permits Pulled When Required

Panel upgrades, EV charger circuits, new branch circuits, and service entrance work typically require a permit in Sacramento County. We handle the permit application and coordinate the inspection so the work is on record and the inspection is passed before we call the job complete.

Licensed C-10, Not a Handyman

Electrical project work requires a licensed contractor, not a general handyman. CA LIC #1154062. Joseph Perry is a licensed C-10 electrical contractor — the license class the State of California requires for this type of work.

Common Questions

Project work
FAQ

Do you charge for estimates?

No. Estimates on project work are free. We come out, look at what the job actually involves, and give you a fixed price. If you decide not to move forward, there is no charge.

What is the difference between a repair call and a project estimate?

A repair call is for something that stopped working and you don’t know why. That starts with a paid diagnostic visit to find the cause. A project estimate is for work where the scope is already known — you want an EV charger installed, a panel upgraded, recessed lights added. When the scope is clear, the estimate is free. If you’re not sure which type of call you need, give us a call — it’s a quick conversation.

Do I need a permit for my project?

It depends on the work. Panel upgrades, new branch circuits, service entrance work, and EV charger circuits typically require a permit in Sacramento County. Replacing a device at an existing working location (an outlet swap, a switch replacement) generally does not. We pull the permit when the work requires one and coordinate the final inspection.

How far in advance do I need to schedule?

Availability varies by season and scope of work. The best way to get a sense of current lead time is to call us directly at (916) 903-0277 or submit a request and we will be in touch with availability.

Do you work on commercial projects?

Yes. We handle light commercial work including tenant improvements, small buildouts, and commercial panel work throughout the greater Sacramento area. See our Commercial Electrical page for more detail.
